Corporate Overview
Founded
in 1994, KenCast is a Delaware corporation located in Stamford,
CT. The Company is privately-owned, profitable, and growing at
double-digit rates per annum. KenCast's flagship product Fazzt®
(pronounced "fast") delivers a broad variety of multimedia content with
ultra-reliability, using advanced error correction, compression, and
validation software in both the transmitting and receiving PC or
PDA. KenCast's multi-patented Forward Error Correction (Fazzt
FEC®) algorithms assure the highest level of broadcast reliability,
even when no return links are available and even in inclement
weather. This ability to reliably deliver mathematically perfect
wireless transmissions, even in environments with challenging
topography or weather, makes KenCast software an indispensable
component for wireless transmissions of very large files—particularly
encrypted files or HD digital video files—being broadcast to a large
number of locations in bandwidth-sensitive environments.
KenCast's mission is to bring ever-improving reliability, security, and
efficiency to multicasting. Its research labs have developed a
variety of new techniques to improve the reliability of satellite and
wireless transmissions. KenCast's innovative Fazzt FEC® enables reconstruction
of damaged files, even after extended outages, and validation that they
are identical to the files as sent. Fazzt FEC technology can also be
applied on-the-fly to streams of live data. Fazzt's compression and FEC
enable highly efficient and reliable one-way broadcasting without a
return link. If return links are available, Fazzt will retransmit
minimized information necessary to complete and validate. Whenever
possible, KenCast builds its software upon open standards to ensure
flexibility and compatibility.
In addition, KenCast is playing an active role in assisting in the
adoption of new wireless technologies such as WiMAX. KenCast has
demonstrated its WiMAX-ready software with a number of equipment
vendors at each of the recent WiMAX global plenary forums.
KenCast anticipates that it will continue to play a leading role in the
global rollout of this exciting new technology.
