The GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt 7.0 and 7.1


The GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt provides a means of integrating the GNU Privacy Guard (GnuPG) with the Fazzt® Digital Delivery System in order to add encryption functionality to Fazzt. The integration is provided by means of a set of Fazzt Scripts and web pages. On Windows platforms, the GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt includes the GNU Privacy Guard. On Linux platforms, GnuPG must be installed separately.

With the GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt, you can set up Fazzt to automatically encrypt transmissions using public key and symmetric encryption techniques. The integration scripts provide a means of managing GnuPG keyrings from the Fazzt administrator's web interface, as well as tools for generating, exporting, and installing encryption keys.

The Fazzt® Digital Delivery System is commercial software. Use of the Fazzt Digital Delivery System requires a license from KenCast, Inc. The GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt 7.0 and 7.1 is designed to take advantage of features in Fazzt 7.

Installation

On Windows platforms, the GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt can be installed by running the executable GnuPGAddOnForFazzt7-v4.1.exe. This executable includes functionality needed for both the transmit and receive side. The installation automatically detects which type of Fazzt installation is present on your machine.

On Linux platforms, the GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt can be installed using the following RPMs:

  • Fazzt-Client-GPG-AddOn-4.1-1.noarch.rpm for Fazzt Standard Client.
  • Fazzt-GPG-AddOn-4.1-1.noarch.rpm for Fazzt Enterprise Client and Server products.
    • The GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt depends on GnuPG version 1.2.3.

    To install the Fazzt-Client-GPG-AddOn rpm use the following command:

    rpm -i Fazzt-Client-GPG-AddOn-4.1-1.noarch.rpm

    The GnuPG binaries included in the Windows version of the GnuPG AddOn for Fazzt are the same as those distributed through www.gnupg.org for GnuPG 1.2.3. The source code for GnuPG 1.2.3 is available here. To obtain the latest version, you can visit www.gnupg.org.
