Dr. Henrik Axelsson

Since joining KenCast in 2006, Dr. Henrik Axelsson has held key roles across software development, operations, business strategy, and management. Now as CEO, he oversees strategic initiatives in marketing, sales, and business development, working closely with the Board of Directors to drive growth, innovation, and long-term planning. Henrik also plays a decisive role in shaping KenCast’s product direction and aligning technical development with customer and market needs.

He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in optimization and control theory, as well as an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

Dr. Weimin Fang

Dr. Fang joined KenCast, Inc. in June 2000, shortly after receiving his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics. He has directed the development of the KenCast mobile broadband product line for many years and leads core development for our Fazzt technology.

Weimin has made major contributions to KenCast’s technology for accelerated delivery, Forward Error Correction, IP network bonding, multicasting, and dispersed cloud storage. He won a Gold Medal at the 27th International Mathematical Olympics, 1986.  He holds a B.S., Mathematics, Peking University, Beijing, P.R. China, May 1990, an M.S., Computer Science, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, 1998, and a Ph.D., Mathematics, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, May 2000

Taniya Pirapokin

As Vice President of Software Development, Taniya Pirapokin has been instrumental in driving innovation at KenCast since joining in 2000. She leads software development efforts across the Digital Cinema and the core Fazzt product line, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-performance solutions to clients worldwide.

Taniya earned her B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and went on to obtain an M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University.

Oriel Newman

Since joining KenCast in 2013, Oriel has played a meaningful role in shaping the company’s initiatives and overall corporate direction. He works closely with sales and business development and is deeply involved in partnership development, business administration, account management, and marketing—managing press releases, social media, trade show planning, and promotional materials. He also represents KenCast at major industry events and helps cultivate strong, long-term client relationships.  As the company’s legal point person, Oriel is responsible for negotiating deals and drafting agreements.

He holds a B.A. from Brandeis University, a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Ed Behan

Joining KenCast in 2024, Ed brings a unique blend of executive and engineering expertise serving the broadcast, enterprise, and government sectors. With deep roots in the satellite industry, Ed has successfully led product initiatives spanning diverse video and data applications, while driving their evolution to terrestrial and wireless topologies. As an engineer, he has successfully designed and implemented infrastructure deployments in over 30 nations.

Ed holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University and has co-authored industry-recognized books, including The Delivery of Media in the Enterprise.

Andy Towe

Andy joined KenCast in 2025, bringing a broad background in broadcast technology, operations, and innovation. He works closely with sales and engineering teams and plays a key role in advancing product strategy, social media, supporting process improvement, and contributing to technical initiatives. At KenCast, he is focused on integrating emerging technologies and strengthening how the company delivers solutions to customers.

Prior to joining KenCast, Andy helped lead the first U.S. deployment of 5G Broadcast, including the launch of the nation’s first 24/7 on-air 5GBC service. He holds multiple certifications in DevOps and 5G networks and earned his MBA from Rutgers University in 2024.

William E. Steele

Bill has been a pioneering force in the satellite and telecommunications industries. Before founding KenCast, he spent 14 years at GTE Corporation, serving as General Manager of the ImageSpan division of GTE Spacenet. He also held executive roles at McDonnell-Douglas’ Microband subsidiary and American Satellite Corporation.
 

Dr. Steele holds a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University. Before formally retiring in early 2024, Bill helped shape KenCast’s reputation for innovation, reliability and technical excellence. A beloved and affable figure in the industry, he is known for both his visionary work and the enduring respect and friendships he cultivated throughout his career.
