Performance, Security and Compliance Enhancements Across the Platform
KenCast's new release introduces important improvements in cryptographic compliance, system performance and administrative security. These updates strengthen the platform’s alignment with modern federal security standards while delivering meaningful gains in operational efficiency.

Compliance and Cryptography To align with current federal security requirements, the SHA-256 cryptographic hash function has been reimplemented to utilize native operating system cryptographic APIs. This change supports alignment with FIPS 140-3 security standards while leveraging trusted OS-level cryptographic services.
Performance Optimizations Several architectural improvements enhance overall system responsiveness and throughput. The SQL database layer has been tuned to improve query performance and database responsiveness. KenCast has also achieved a breakthrough that enhances the core Fazzt® transport engine with a streamlined processing architecture that significantly accelerates packet handling and recovery operations, with encoding and decoding now more than 5× faster. The result is higher throughput, faster file delivery and improved responsiveness for demanding distribution environments.
Security and Access Control
Administrative interfaces have been strengthened with a secure-by-default posture. The admin-www interface now requires mandatory user authentication, preventing unauthenticated access. In addition, the integrated File Manager is disabled by default to reduce the system’s attack surface and limit potential vectors for unauthorized file manipulation.
Together, these enhancements further strengthen Fazzt’s performance, security and compliance posture for demanding distribution environments.
