Robotics is moving quickly from controlled environments into the real world.
That means more machines operating in factories, warehouses, farms, vehicles and other places where conditions are not always predictable. It also means more video, telemetry and sensor data moving between robots, operators and control systems.
The robot may get most of the attention, but the communications behind it matter too.
Live video is only useful if it arrives on time. Telemetry has to reach the people and systems that depend on it. And when networks are congested, intermittent or limited, maintaining that flow of information can become difficult.
That is why RoboGeorgia is interesting to KenCast.
Our work focuses on the reliable, low-latency delivery of video and data across satellite, wireless and terrestrial networks. Those challenges are increasingly relevant as robotic and unmanned systems move into more demanding environments.
We are looking forward to hearing how others are approaching these issues, learning where communications are creating obstacles and discussing where more resilient data delivery can help.
